On October the 1st 2009, the First Pan-European Opera and Culture HD channel "Brava HDTV" has been added to the High Definition TV packages of the French ADSL operators FREE and Alice. It is the latest addition to BravaHDTV’s footprint in France, which already included the cable platform Numericable and the digital satellite and DSL pay television service CANALSAT. BravaHDTV is also on offer in Holland, Belgium, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Portugal and very soon in Spain, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
With more than 150 channels included, FREE is the French ADSL operator that offers the largest number of channels in its standard package. FREE users can also access more than 150 optional channels. All media included, FREE subscribers benefit from the most extensive audiovisual offering with 300 channels and 7 Video-on-Demand platforms (Free Home Vidéo, Canal Play, TF1 Vision, M6 Vidéo, Vodéo, IConcerts, Frissons).
Alice is a triple-play service (internet + phone + TV) marketed in France by the Iliad Group, a major player in the French internet access and telecommunications market via FREE and Iliad Télécom (fixed telephony provider) and IFW (Wimax). The Iliad Group had 4,371,000 ADSL subscribers as of 30 June 2009, of which 3,389,000 under the Free brand and 836,000 under the Alice brand. The Iliad Group is listed on Euronext Paris under the ticker ILD.
